Nils Wanberg

Nils grew up in his parent’s photography studio. He learned the basics of photography, editing and running a business. He went to the University of Santa Barbara and Northern Arizona University studying history and public health. He did an internship at the US Embassy at The Hague, Netherlands to consider a future in diplomacy. While there, he did a film on a group of African American soldiers serving in Europe during World War II called “Alabama to Margraten” that received acclaim at the U.S. State Department. Upon his return to the States he joined Wanberg Media Arts and contributed his artistic talents to capturing large scale special events, and helped in all things technical when WMA began shooting video stories.

Although always ready to jump into a Wanberg Media Arts project, Nils has developed his own company, Storycast LLC, focusing on Virtual Reality storytelling. Nils brings purpose and innovation in his approach to storytelling in the exciting new frontier of immersive content production in the metaverse.

Nils recently had the privilege to produce and direct Grammy Award winning music artists in virtual reality for the DoDitty VR music campaign in Atlanta and Nashville. Immersive VR performances included Lainey Wilson, B.O.B., Markus King, Manchester Orchestra and Caylee Hammack.

In addition to directing and producing films, Nils held a creative leadership position at a successful early tech startup for one of the world's leading spatial data platforms. The pioneering work in this field helped to lead a digital transformation of the built world in residential and commercial real estate. Adapting quickly to transformative technology and embracing the positive elements that bring innovation to market is a passion that continues to this day.
